Invention And History Of Ray-O-Vac Batteries

Invention And History Of Ray-O-Vac Batteries, is going to be today’s post here in Discover My Inventions, and it was In 1906, the French Battery Co. was founded in Madison, Wisconsin, by James Bowen Ramsay (1869-1952), with Alfred Landau as its first president, In 1910, Landau was replaced by C.F. Burgess, and the company became profitable.

After a fire destroyed the plant in 1915, Burgess left to found his own company. Production rose during the First World War, and by 1920, the French company had US$2.74 million in sales and 600 employees, and 1000 employees in 1931, In 1930, the company name was changed to Ray-O-Vac, an allusion to the then-new technology of vacuum tubes and electron rays. In 1933, the company patented the first wearable vacuum tube hearing aid.

During its ownership by the parent company of ESB Industrials, a British subsidiary was established to manufacture and market batteries in the United Kingdom under the Ray-O-Vac name, this operation ceased in 1972; Ray-O-Vac batteries continued to be marketed, although they were manufactured by the British Ever Ready company, In 1988, the name was simplified to Rayovac.

In 2003, Rayovac decided to diversify, and acquired non-battery related businesses including Remington Products and United Pet Group, In 2004, Rayovac successfully underbid Energizer (Eveready) as RadioShack’s battery supplier and produced the enercell brand of battery sold exclusively at RadioShack, In January 2005, Rayovac purchased United Industries Corporation for about $476 million in cash and stock.

Brands included in United Industries were Vigoro, Spectracide and Sta-Green lawn products, Cutter, Hot Shot and Repel insect control products and pet supply products with the Marineland, Perfecto, and Eight in One brands, In 2005, Tetra, a major provider of pet-fish products, was acquired, this diversification prompted the name change from Rayovac to Spectrum Brands.

The Creation Of McDonald’s Restaurant

The Creation Of McDonald’s Restaurant, is going to be today’s post here in Discover My Inventions, McDonald’s has been serving great and delicious food for many years, quick and easy, McDonald’s is a family-owned fast food chain operation, the McDonald family moved from Manchester, New Hampshire to Hollywood in the late 1930s.

That’s where the brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald began working as set movers and handymen at Motion-Picture studios, In 1937, their father Patrick McDonald opened The Airdrome, a food stand, on Huntington Drive (Route 66) near the Monrovia Airport in Monrovia, California with hot dogs being one of the first item sold.

Hamburgers were later added to the menu at a cost of ten cents with all-you-can-drink orange juice at five cents. In 1940, Maurice and Richard (Mac and Dick) moved the entire building 40 miles east, to West 19th and 1398 North E Streets in San Bernardino, California. The restaurant was renamed McDonald’s Bar-B-Que and had twenty-five menu items, mostly barbecue.

I can remember In 1960s and 70s, the McDonald’s advertising campaign on TV, Look for the Golden Arches gave sales a big boost. Kroc believed that advertising was an investment that would in the end come back many times over, and advertising has always played a key role in the development of the McDonald’s Corporation.

Indeed, McDonald’s ads have been some of the most identifiable over the years. In 1962, McDonald’s introduced its now world-famous Golden Arches logo, a year later, the company sold its millionth hamburger and introduced Ronald McDonald, a red-haired clown designed to appeal to children.

It was In the early 1960s, McDonald’s really began to take off to the next level of growth, in U.S. automobile use that came with suburbanization contributed heavily to McDonald’s success, In 1961 Kroc bought out the McDonald brothers for $2.7 million, aiming at making McDonald’s the number one fast-food chain in the country.

Samsung Electric Industries was established as an industry Samsung Group in 1969 in Suwon, South Korea, Its early products were electronic and electrical appliances including televisions, calculators, refrigerators, air conditioners and washing machines. In 1970, Samsung Group established another subsidiary, Samsung-NEC, jointly with Japan’s NEC Corporation to manufacture home appliances and audiovisual devices. In 1974, the group expanded into the semiconductor business by acquiring Korea Semiconductor, one of the first chip-making facilities in the country at the time.

The acquisition of Korea Telecommunications, an electronic switching system producer, was completed at the start of the next decade in 1980, by 1981, Samsung Electric Industries had manufactured over 10 million black-and-white televisions. In February 1983, Samsung’s founder, Lee Byung-chull, along with the board of the samsung industry and corporation agreement and help by sponsoring the event, made an announcement later dubbed the Tokyo declaration, in which he declared that.

Samsung intended to become a DRAM (dynamic random access memory) vendor. One year later, Samsung became the third company in the world to develop a 64 kb DRAM, In 1988, Samsung Electric Industries merged with Samsung Semiconductor & Communications to form Samsung Electronics, as before that, they had not been one company and had not been a leading corporation together, but they were not rivals, as they had been in talks for a time, until they finally merged.

Invention And History Of The Clothes Dryer

Invention And History Of The Clothes Dryer, is going to be today’s post here in Discover My Inventions, a hand-cranked clothes dryer was created in 1800 by M. Pochon from France, In 1892 George T Sampson invented the patent fot the mechanical clothes dryer, a born slave, his invention was registered a generation after slavery was ended.

J. Ross Moore, an American inventor from North Dakota, developed designs for automatic clothes dryers during the early 20th century, his design for an electrically operated dryer was developed and released to the public in 1938, Industrial designer Brooks Stevens developed the first electric dryer with a glass window in the 1940s.

Many dryers consist of a rotating drum called a tumbler through which heated air is circulated to evaporate the moisture, while the tumbler is rotated to maintain air space between the articles. Using these machines may cause clothes to shrink or become less soft (due to loss of short soft fibers/lint), a simpler non-rotating machine called a drying cabinet may be used for delicate fabrics and other items not suitable for a tumble dryer.

The clothes dryer took a lot of hard work off of people, be keeping them from having to uise the old clothes-links, to hang clothes on, out in the back yard, specially in the winter months when the days was cold in short, I can remember what my mom used clothes lines sometimes the clothes would need to get dry due to not enough sunshine or warmer temperatures, the close dryer was a great invention and a household appliance.

Laundry may be dried outdoors when the temperature is well below the freezing point. First, the moisture in the laundry items will freeze and the clothing will become stiff, then the frost on the clothes will sublimate into the air, leaving the items dry, It takes a long time and it is usually much quicker to dry them indoors; however, indoor drying removes heat from the air so it is a trade-off between speed and energy efficiency.

History And Invention Of The Smoke Detector

History And Invention Of The Smoke Detector, is going to be today’s post here in Discover My Inventions, what a great and wonderful invention the smoke detector can and it has saved many lives, is the unthinkable happens house fires, detectors is something that needs to be tested often to make sure they’re working proper, I have the battery-powered ones in my home that I really like well.

It’s really nice when you can actually pay a small price for something that possibly help save thousands of dollars and more importantly lives, I actually think smoke detectors really needs to be put in every room of our homes, like I always say it’s better to be safe than sorry, again it is a small price for something that can help save lives and so many other things that has a great value to you, smoke detectors only takes a few minutes to install, and always make it a point even a habit to run test to make sure all smoke detectors in your home is working proper whether they electric or battery-operated.

The first automatic electric fire alarm was patented in 1890 by Francis Robbins Upton, an associate of Thomas Edison. George Andrew Darby patented the first European electrical heat detector in 1902 in Birmingham, England. In the late 1930s Swiss physicist Walter Jaeger tried to invent a sensor for poison gas, which now detectors for poison gas is available, and I think when it comes to home safety we can never do enough to keep your home safe.

I think it’s always important to do a safety check before we leave our homes, I think it is never a good idea to go off and leave lights burning or some appliances a running such as a washer machine, or a close dryer, it only takes one split second for fire to get started, but yet it could take a lot to put it out, and a lot of homes is destroyed each day from bad extension cords to appliances malfunctioning one way or another which can lead to a house fire.

Always remember to check and double check, just because you’re taking a lot of great safety measures going through the house from room to room to check to make sure there’s nothing that could lead to the house fire, and just because you taken the steps and extra time to do this doesn’t mean that you’re thinking negative within a fact you thinking smart, a lot of homes burns down from some of the simplest things, so always remember to take all the safety steps necessary to save yourself a lot of trouble.

History And Invention Of Spray Paint

History And Invention Of Spray Paint, is going to be today’s post here in Discover My Inventions, spray paint can be used in so many different way and it comes in so many different colors solid and mixed, and over thet years I’ve used spray paint for a lot things, such as spray painting the handles on my tools to help them to stay clean and last longer, and I keep cans of spray paint in my tool building to have when I need it.

Spray painting is also a painting technique where a device sprays a coating (paint, ink, varnish, etc.) through the air onto a surface, the most common types employ compressed gas—usually air—to atomize and direct the paint particles, spray guns evolved from airbrushes, and the two are usually distinguished by their size and the size of the spray pattern they produce.

Airbrushes are hand-held and used instead of a brush for detailed work such as photo retouching, painting nails or fine art, air gun spraying uses equipment that is generally larger. It is typically used for covering large surfaces with an even coating of liquid, spray guns can be either automated or hand-held and have interchangeable heads to allow for different spray patterns, single color aerosol paint cans are portable and easy to store.

Spray paint with compressed air can be traced back to its use on the Southern Pacific Railway in the early 1880s In 1887 Joseph Binks, the maintenance supervisor at Chicago’s Marshall Field’s Wholesale Store developed a hand pumped cold-water paint spraying machine to apply whitewash to the subbasement walls of the store.

Francis Davis Millet, the decorations director for the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893, used Binks and his spray painting system to apply whitewash consisting of a mix of oil and white lead to the buildings at the Exposition, taking considerably less time than traditional brush painting and tuning it into what has been called the White city, In 1949, Edward Seymour developed a type of spray painting, aerosol paint, that could be delivered via a compressed aerosol in a can.

History And Invention Of The Garbage Trucks

History And Invention Of The Garbage Trucks, is going to be today’s post here in Discover My Inventions, the garbage truck was a truck specially designed to collect solid waste such as plastic containers vegetable cans and many other unwanted objects, that pollutes the land which we live in, I think it is very important to keep our streams clean and safe, and I think that is a very good rule that everyone should follow.

I think that the garbage pickup is a great service, and a service that was developed in the late 1800s, and I see a lot of times on the news about streams of being polluted with garbage such as plastic milk jugs cans and garbage of all kinds, and I think it is a shame when that happens and I want to give and I think everyone should give a friendly thumbs up to the people who runs the garbage pickup, I think that is a very tough job.

The garbage truck is pretty much a global service, and is known by many different names such as, Garbage truck or dustcart refers to a truck specially designed to collect municipal solid waste and haul the collected waste to a solid waste treatment facility such as a landfill, other common names for this type of truck include trash truck in the United States, and rubbish truck, bin wagon, dustbin lorry, bin lorry or bin van elsewhere.

Technical names include waste collection vehicle and refuse collection vehicle. These trucks are a common sight in most urban areas, major U.S. manufacturers of garbage trucks include Mack and Autocar Trucks, major manufacturers of garbage truck bodies (not the truck itself) include McNeilus, and Heil, also Wagons and other means had been used for centuries to haul away solid waste.

Among the first self-propelled garbage trucks were those ordered by Chiswick District Council from the Thornycroft Steam Wagon and Carriage Company in 1897 described as a steam motor tip-car, a new design of body specific for “the collection of dust and house refuse.

History And Invention Of The Vacuum Cleaner

History And Invention Of The Vacuum Cleaner, is going to be today’s post here in Discover My Inventions, vacuum cleaners comes in many different styles shapes and sizes, and is manufactured by different companies, and has made house and office work much easier, and the vacuum cleaner is another small appliance that is even carried in cars such as the Black & Decker many vac.

It was back in 1907 department store janitor James Murray Spangler (1848-1915) of Canton, Ohio invented the first portable electric vacuum cleaner, obtaining a patent for the Electric Suction Sweeper on June 2, 1908, their first vacuum was the 1908 Model O, which sold for $60. vacuum cleaners, is also known as a sweeper, is a device that uses an air pump (a centrifugal fan in all but some of the very oldest models), to create a partial vacuum to suck up dust and dirt, usually from floors, and from other surfaces such as upholstery and draperies.

The dirt is collected by either a dustbag or a cyclone for later disposal, vacuum cleaners, which are used in homes as well as in industry, exist in a variety of sizes and models—small battery-powered hand-held devices, wheeled canister models for home use, domestic central vacuum cleaners, huge stationary industrial appliances that can handle several hundred litres of dust before being emptied, and self-propelled vacuum trucks for recovery of large spills or removal of contaminated soil. Specialized shop vacuums can be used to suck up both dust and liquids.

The vacuum cleaner evolved from the carpet sweeper via manual vacuum cleaners. The first manual models, using bellows, were developed in the 1860s, and the first motorized designs appeared at the turn of the 20th century, with the first decade being the boom decade, A similar model was constructed by Melville R. Bissell of Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1876.[4] The company later added portable vacuum cleaners to its line of cleaning tools.

Bissell was born in Hartwick, New York, and grew up in Berlin, Wisconsin. As a young adult, he opened a grocery store in 1862 with his father, Alpheus, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, selling it in 1869 and opening a crockery and glassware store in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1870. He made money manufacturing crockery and investing in real estate.

History And Creation Of Dairy Queen

History And Creation Of Dairy Queen, is going to be today’s post here in Discover My Inventions, and the the first Dairy Queen restaurant and the location was in Joliet, Illinois, It was operated by Sherb Noble and opened for business on June 22, 1940, It served a variety of frozen products, such as soft serve ice cream, the company’s corporate offices are located in the Minneapolis suburb of Edina, Minnesota.

Dairy Queen is a restaurant is worldwide and here in the United States the state which has the most Dairy Queen restaurants is Texas, and the the soft-serve formula was first developed in 1938 by Douds, Iowa-born John Fremont J.F. Grandpa McCullough (1871‒1963) and his son Alex, they convinced friend and loyal customer Sherb Noble to offer the product in his ice cream store in Kankakee, Illinois, on the first day of sales, Noble dished out more than 1,600 servings of the new dessert within two hours.

The company’s stores are operated under several brands, all bearing the distinctive Dairy Queen logo and carrying the company’s signature soft-serve ice cream (along with the trademark curl, In the 1970s, most restaurants were Brazier locations with a second floor for storage, recognizable for their red mansard roofs, as of the end of 2014, Dairy Queen had more than 6,400 stores in 27 countries, including more than 1,400 locations outside the United States and Canada.

I think it is amazing on how fast a business can grow such as Dairy Queen has from what started out as a small simple ice cream stand has turned into a huge chain restaurant has, Dairy Queen Orange Julius, is also known as the Treat Center concept, an enhanced version of the original stores also serves drinks and foods from the Orange Julius menu. This was the company’s preferred concept for new, small-scale locations, primarily in shopping mall food courts, some early Treat Centers also included Karmelkorn, since 2012, all Dairy Queen locations feature Orange Julius drinks.

A Lamp That Runs On Salt And Water

A Lamp That Runs On Salt And Water, is going to be today’s post here in Discover My Inventions, Filipinos invented and what a great invention this is this lamp only runs on salt and water which therefore makes it safe and easy to use should they be an accident there’s nothing claimable that could cause a far when using this amazing saltwater lamp is amazing what ideas can be turned into.

At this time I do not know where to buy one of these lamps I ran across this video in doing some researching March 31, 2017 while I was working on another blog post, and this video really caught my eye I decided to write a blog post about it and I think it is amazing when we can discover how simple some things is to turn and to an invention and product, according to the video this young man in the Philippines created this lie because they’ve some people over there that’s less fortunate to have electricity.

That gives us something to think about just water and salt is all you need to make amazing lamp, and I am open to write reviews and articles for those of you out there that may have a new product that you might want to get on the market, like I’ve wrote in other blog post it never pays to throw away a good idea because ideas can be turned into a great product or created into a great business, and I do have access to a company to help raise funding to promote businesses.

I will be doing more researching on the lamp to find out where they’re selling at and maybe some prices on them, when it comes to new inventions such as this Salt Water Lamp I’m always interested in learning about it, I have a lot of new ideas a lot of things I have done the drawings to, and that’s why I set up Discover my inventions, which is based on ideas and inventions of all kinds and if anyone has anything that they want help with all my contact information is at the bottom of every blog post in the disclaimer.
